Project Overview
This project was a full garden landscaping project for a customer in Great Chishill. From the initial garden design and plans we had to make quite a few changes due to budget restrictions so we worked closely with the customer to achieve this, whether it was scaling back some of the design elements or using different materials.
Sleeper Beds and Contemporary Screening
We installed raised beds around the garden using sleepers. We then installed screening around the property in a contemporary design to fit with the modern look of the garden design.
One of the bigger changes we made is that all these sleeper beds and this sleeper pond was originally block work, which was going to be clad with porcelain, but obviously, when you’re on a budget, that’s quite a difference in saving.
Water Feature
We created a water feature which is a rock which is built as a self contained water feature. There is a separate sump at the bottom because this front section is going to be pond plants like a water garden.
Composite Decking
We installed composite decking raised to the back of the garden. In terms of the changes we made to fit the budget, the original composite decking was going to be a Millboard decking, but we’ve changed it for a smart board. It is still a high quality composite deck board, but a decent price bracket for the customer.
Sandstone Paving
For the other big saving, we changed from a porcelain paving to a sandstone paver, which is quite a big saving.
As you can see from the video, we still achieved a nice looking garden and it still looks like a high end garden design. It is still quality workmanship, but there’s quite a few savings that we were able to make for our customer. So as long as we know your budget, Heath Landscapes can make it work.
